I keep one of these next to phone for those cold sales type of calls. One blast and they hang up and never call back. Not good for night calls and warning to others that may be in the house before use is recommended. In as much as the "Do Not Call" list is pretty useless I have taken matters in to my own hands for resolution.

    I like it!

I'm not sure what prevents companies from getting a do not call list and using it as their list of numbers to be called. As long as the company doing the calling is outside of the jurisdiction of the government handing out the list, then what is to stop them from using that nice list of confirmed/active numbers? As I understand it, a U.S. based company can get that list and sell it to another company anywhere in the world.

I'm not on any such list and I don't get many cold calls.
I've never received the "your computer..." type of a call :-(

Since I installed the device I mentioned I don't get very many either.

I like to ask them if THEY could hold on for a second, then set the phone down for a few minutes, then hang it up.

    I agree.

    It certainly doesn't work here.
