Files & folders take longer to load and sometimes freeze.

I paid about $500 for this system. That price is high for me. It is still under warranty.

Files & folders take longer to load and sometimes freeze. This happens with a clean install as well as preloaded system. I am trying to figure out what service is causing this problem or is it because dell should of put a 32 bit 7 instead of a 64 bit on this machine or put Vista on this. I even tried disabling indexing totally didn’t work. This is a problem with some systems. One person did report, after upgrading to 8.1 using the full install disk. It stopped the problem. Which must mean it has something to do with the OS. I don’t know if would do the same thing with the 32 bit. I already ran the bios diagnosis no problems with anything. Anyone else know what service is causing this? It is none of the dell drivers.

While you are having this trouble, you might want to uninstall Xyvos Antivirus. The main part of that antivirus software has not been updated since 2010. The website domain registration lists incorrect info. The website has not been updated since 2010. [I could not figure out how to get that antivirus tool to scan a file.]

You might want to try Microsoft Security Essentials.

I agree that might be the issue. I just have run without a virus protection program for a little while and test it out. I do have Spybot - Search & Destroy program installed.

UsernameIssues, I think that might be the issue will know after further using this computer I guess there are still a few 32 bit applications that won't work with a 64 bit computer. I have two older outpost firewall versions that wouldn't install.

You can use the Windows 7 firewall.

It can be setup for outbound protection if that makes you feel better.

Solved for now, I hope. I maybe very good at configuring stuff, you do forget to check your programs you install. I did discovered a driver problem in windows 7 in the event log & it was thprogram. Xyvos still loaded despite that. Basically W7 was fighting with Xyvos. So that what supposedly cause the problem with explorer. I can not say for sure though. Have to keep using my computer to see.
