Losing window & arrow when dragged to right screen.. no 'road block'

Hello I am sorry this is hard to explain..

You know how if you drag a window to the left or right side of the screen it maximizes it to half of the screen.. or if you drag it to the top it maximizes it to full screen..

Well the right side of my window no longer does that and when I drag a window over there it goes off screen instead of maximizing it to half the screen like usual.. the same happens with my arrow.

Is there anyway to fix this? I imagine restarting my computer will work but I would like to be able to fix it if it does it again without doing that.

    Thank you so much!

Welcome to the forums juiceimus! (Love the username btw )

You could try a sfc/scannow to check for and possibly repair any corrupted system files. If you haven't done that before, heres a link to a tutorial on how. SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

I just restarted it and everything is fine.. I believe it seems to be a problem with a program called Screencast-O-Matic.

Thank you so much for your quick and informative response!! I will be sure to try that if it happens again.

Did you set extend monitor? Check this setting. Use Win+P to use one monitor only.

That feature is called Aero Snap.

Oh my gosh that is what I did!! That button is directly next to the brightness buttons which I am always fiddling with. I vaguely remember that popping up right before it happened but I always ignore it because it happens so often.

Thank you for the answer I will mark this as solved because that was most definitely what happened!!

Check these tutorials out, as well. You may find them useful.

That is greatly appreciated.. I usually do them side by side. But stacked horizontally is fantastic. This will be immensely useful to me. Thank you!

The suggestion made by Scott earlier, would normally be the correct course of action if the cause were system file corruption.

    Glad you got it sorted.
