How do I assign hotkeys to taskbar items?

    Hi,

I am looking for a way to assign hotkeys to open items in the taskbar. By default, WIN+<1-0> will open items 1-10 on the taskbar. I need access to 14 items, however.

Is there a way to do this with Windows by default? If not, is there an application that someone can recommend?

    Thanks!

    Thanks for reply.

I've been using that for now in fact. Unfortunately it is taking far too long and is too tedious. Also, my work involves a lack of visual access to the taskbar at times making it quite tough to use effectively. As such, looking for a simple key combination.

Another goodie, but unfortunately I am running several applications in multiple instances. As such I would need separate hotkeys per window.

Usually I would not be able to use the default WIN+<1-0> hotkeys on multiple instances either. Using "7+ Taskbar Tweaker" I have been able to completely ungroup the instances however. Since each instance is being recognized separately now, it would be matter of finding something (1st or 3rd party) that can read each taskbar item that's open and assign it hotkeys of my choosing.

AutoHotkey could work, good point. Thanks.

I'll hold out a bit longer and see if there's an even simpler solution. I barely know the AHK scripting language, although seems simple enough, but would rather have a GUI to make adjustments with as things are added/removed to my setup. If not, so be it, will just make a script.
