Anyone able to help with a .xml file?

I have been fooling around with FlightGear and need to change code within a .xml file in the C:/ <operating system> to do with joystick operation. I have the code but the problem is that I cannot gain access to the .xml file to allow for deletion/replacement. How do I gain access to do this?
    Thanks

You could try this tutorial to take ownership of the file:

    Finally!

I earlier downloaded the program and could TAKE OWNERSHIP of files. <Finally> The light bulb came ON and I tried to use the right click>EDIT on the .xml file .. Lo and Behold I was able to change the script in the T16000M.xml file

Thanks for the input, much appreciated as I have spent many hours trying to get on top of this (simple) problem
