    Folder view preferences not memorized

I have this situation that is really bugging me and don’t know where to start.
It's about the folders on my desktop. My Win7 Ultimate SP1 is no longer holding viewing preferences. I mean: folder options> view> Such as details / icons / list etc..
Looks like on the other two HDDs it retains viewing preferences but on C drive it looses them. I already tryed "reset folders" and "apply to all" but nothing.
Since W7 installation (2 months) it has retained the viewing preferences without such problems. :)
Shortly after W7 installation I also installed ShellFolderFix. Together they worked fine until recently.

    Any suggestions?

Is this within a Libray folder?
All Included Folders and subfolders in a library will always share the same folder view. You can have separate Arrange by view settings in each added New folder in the library though.

    Thanks Brink.

Indeed the Desktop folder was included in the Library folder as a the default location for documents. I removed Desktop from there but it did not make any difference.

I recall this registry edit for XP called BagMRU Size.
Is there a similar option applicable to w7?

    Hello 7eleven,

If you have not already, you might see of resetting folder views back to default and starting fresh may help.
In addition, you could use the tutorial below to back up and restore your folder view settings as needed.
To save and restore your desktop icons position, you could use a free programs like DesktopOK or IconRestorer to do so.

    Hope this helps, :)

Thank a lot Brink. I just can't wait to try them later, today.
Just one more question, since I already tryed "reset folders" and "apply to all" :
    Windows_7_Reset_All_Folders_To_Default_Folder_Views.bat
and Cpanel/folder options/view/reset folders are the same?

No, they're not quite the same.

The reset folders from Folder Options will only reset all folders with the same folder template as the current folder.

The .bat file will reset the folder views of all folders back to default no matter what folder template they are optimized for.
