    How can I 'reclaim' a User Profile?


    • New windows install after HDD fail.
    • Restored some backup files but created the user "Roger" (under C:/ ... Users)
    • My current profile is "Roger Main"
    • I cannot switch user to "Roger" (i.e. it doesn't exist under UAC)

    How can I switch to the settings of profile "Roger"?

    Roger I don't know if these will be of any help

    User Profile Folder - Change User Account Folder Name
    or
    Built-in Administrator Account - Change Name
    there are several tutorials referring to user profile stuff if these do not suit what you need. if you type in "how to change user profiles" in the tutorial search space there will be plenty come up.
