I can see my Sticky Note but it doesn't open...

    Hi,
I'm having trouble with my sticky note in that I can see it when hover my mouse over the taskbar but when I click on it to maximize it - it doesn't open. I have a bunch of information on it that I can't lose. I'm scared to click on the X because I did that on another sticky note thinking that it would ask me to save it, but it didn't, it just deleted it. I've tried looking for the file and sending it to my co-worker to see if she can open it, but she couldn't. I created another note and now that one shows on top of the old one but the new one does show up on my desktop. Help!

Hello Gaby, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Don't click on the X. That'll close and delete the sticky note.

Check using the tutorial below to see if the sticky note may just be off screen. If so, you could drag it back on-screen.

Hi, I tried both methods and this darn note just doesn't want to pop back up. It's like it's stuck or something. I close or press on the X button and then when I click on Sticky Notes and hover over the taskbar, it shows up but it's not maximizing! I click on Restore but it doesn't give me the Move option or anything else. I have no idea what else to do. The problem is that I noted some information on there that I need! Please help!

In that case, create a backup of your sticky notes, delete (close) this stuck sticky note from the taskbar, then restore the backup of your sticky note to see if it may display properly again.

I did that several times and nothing....but what's weird is that when I do a ctrl+alt+del I see it as one of the items opened but when I release on it...it doesn't maximize. Any other ideas?

For now, create a new user account, and restore the sticky note backup in that account to see if you are able to get the needed information from the sticky note.

If you are, then you could just delete the sticky note in your original account to start over with them.
