Computer very slow, black screen with cursor when starting.

This morning when I woke up and turned on my computer instead of going into windows it started with a black screen a movable cursor. After about 10 minutes it finally loaded into windows but it was very slow, it took about 10 minutes to open Chrome and was nearly impossible to use.

I have tried start up repair and restored the computer but it didn't seem to work. It is still horribly slow.
Because this computer is only 2 days old I haven't gotten around to installing an antivirus yet but the only things I have installed so far are Steam, Team Fortress 2, Bandicam, Skype and Java. I do not believe I have been to any unsafe webpages either.

I tried going into Safe Mode and it seemed to be working faster but opening things like control centre still took longer than they should.

Also, I just noticed that after waiting nearly 10 minutes for Chrome to open in Normal Windows a popup has appeared saying "Your preferences file is corrupt or invalid. Google Chrome is unable to recover your settings." I am not sure if this has anything to do with what is happening but I have not experienced this popup before.

The computer did come with all of the disks and boxes of various parts.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you. :) I am also not sure if this is the right section as I'm not sure what is causing this problem, sorry.

You found time to install all those program but couldn't find time to install something that is more important than any of them; a anti virus program.
After downloading all that stuff you could be infected or have a bunch PUP's.

I recommend going here to make sure you system is clean before doing anything else.

Alternatively since you have not had it that long, you could do the built in factory restore that is provided from the pc manufacturer. (Look for the words system recovery at bootup.) It will format everything and start over. Then you could do this: Clean Up Factory Bloatware

Another option is to follow this tutorial: Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7
