Windows will not boot up after uninstalling Avast Antivirus.

Has anyone else had this problem and might know how to fix it? I just did the normal uninstall and then when it asked to restart to finish removing everything like usual, my computer would not load windows anymore. I can get the Acer logo page, but then when it goes to the booting page, all i get is the little blinking line at the top left of the screen. I used an sd card and my usb drive (i dont have a cd drive) to boot it up from Hitman Pro, but i would like a permanant fix. I tried system restore but it keeps giving me an error message, and says that nothing has been changed. Any help would be appreciated.

Boot into System Recovery Options to run Startup Repair a few times.

It should offer to run System Restore but if not boot back in to run it from the Options list.

Otherwise start at the top of the steps for Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start which try everything possible to get Win7 started, leading up to if necessary rescuiiing your files to run Recovery or do a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 - Windows 7 Help Forums

Thanks for the help. I cannot get to the boot menu. I have tried everything and still nothing ever happens. I can do f2 and f12, but that doesnt give me nay of the safe mode and other options. I am trying to save doing a clean install as a last resort. Can u tell my why/how Hitman Pro is able to get around this problem and let it boot up normally?

Did you look at the other ways to access System Recovery Options? It also explains that you are to tap the F8 key at boot for the onboard Options, not F2 or F12.

Did you look at the steps for Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start which include the Win7 installation media to burn to disk or flash stick for accessing Recovery Options or reinstalling?

    trying to remove avast.

i tried removing Avast. you must download Avastcleaner.exe, then it asks you to go to Save Mode first before removing the program. (i also updated Avast before that because it was giving me constant popups)
now my PC tried to restart and all i get is Black Screen. i am pretty fking pissed off when a company ****s you over like this.
