Printing from Win 7 laptop to Win XP desktop
I've been attempting to network (I have to do this, right ? ) my elderly mothers new Win 7 laptop with her Win XP desktop so as for her to be able to use the printer that's attached to the XP desktop without her having to go into another room and attach a cable.Nothing but problems attempting to network the two pc's together (I THINK that's done now) and to get the printer driver set up on the Win 7 (I think that's done too but,I cannot seem to "link" all of this together. When I attempt to "add a printer" to the win 7 machine,I receive the message that "Windows cannot connect to the printer.Access is denied".
There is a wireless router attached to the pc with the printer attached to it.So,I don't believe this is the problem. Also, the XP machine (the one with the printer) isn't firewalled. So,I don't believe that can be the problem either.Please-if anyone has any ideas, please post them here and I will get back to you tomorrow night.Have to get to sleep now to be ready for my next 12 hour shift at work in the morning.Thank you all very, very much.I've butted my head around with Google over this for hours now (as I always do with any problem before ending up here). So,all help is immensely appreciated.Again, thank you all, very, very much. And,goodnight !
