    Delete file type association?

I have accidentally associated a number of file types with Notepad. I'm trying to delete their association so they go back to having no program that they open with, but Windows does not seem to have this ability integrated into Default Programs > Set Associations. I tried deleting the registry values for the file type in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts, but that didn't work. Any other ideas?

    Hello Mitch,

You should be able to unassociated the file extensions using an option in the tutorial below.

    File Extension Type - Unassociate

    Hope this helps. :)

Did you restart the computer after modifying the registry? Just a thought.
