I saw that a while back, but it's my understanding that windows 7 doesn't store clipboard contents, if anyone else can confirm this that would be helpful.

When creating the shortcut, the location is actually "C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /c "echo off | clip", then name the shortcut "Clear Clipboard". From there you select an icon for it from shell32.dll in System32 folder. Then change the shortcut to run minimized.

It works; been using it for awhile.

Strange, it seems to work for me by clearing the clipboard using this one with the cmd /c "echo off | clip" command,. However, C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /c "echo off | clip" is the same thing, so either should work.

More than one way to do it. Results are the same. I can upload my shortcut if you wish.

    Derek,

Like Vista, Windows 7 only stores the last Copied or Moved item in the clipboard until the computer restarts, user logs off, or something else is copied or moved. :)
