    stuck in window loading files

my dell laptop has been stuck in the 'windows is loading files' for quite some time and no matter how much i tried to press 'ctrl + F11', there's no respond. I tried to press 'F8' to get in the windows manager screen to boot into safe mode but it doesn't respond too.

What were you doing when the problem occurred; running Windows Updates, downloading a program, upgrading an installed software program or something else?
