Yes, it does it when plugged into a different outlet. It's interesting now because a few days ago it started doing it at 11:20pm.. It seems to have changed the time it wants to refresh, if that's what it is doing.

Like I said, its not hurting anything, its just rather annoying.

It's like a Holmes mystery. Since the PC seems to stay on when the monitor blacks out and a 2nd nearly identical one does the same thing, I would make a guess it's some anomaly with the monitors.
If it doesn't start doing it more often or for a longer time, and it doesn't bother you, we wait and see, eh?

I will ask a TV repairman to have a look too.

Here in the US, daylight savings time just started. If you have it there, does it still blink at the same time every day even though the clocks have changed?

Just a thought on this problem. Does your power provider send an impulse signal through the mains supply to turn on hot water storage systems, that are utilising the off peak lower tariff rate.
If this is the case perhaps that may be a cause as this is certainly a mystery.

Beyond it not being random, it seems to be endemic for this model. See this thread at Tom's. Also notice the post about the refresh rate being 76Hz (specs actualls seem to say 75Hz).

Acer p244w problems - display blinks out for couple seconds - Nvidia - Graphics & Displays

I would try a different resolution if possible, and see if it still occurs. A Guy

I know this thread is old... but I seemed to have fixed the problem... A month ago I decided to reinstall windows and pay very close attention to what was being installed and made absolutely sure all drivers updated properly.... everything went perfectly... but 2 weeks it started doing it again... but a lot worse this time... it would flash about every 20 - 30 seconds...
So the only thing I could think of doing was a system restore back the last restore point in December.... and it worked.. my monitor hasn't done it since....
