My wife keeps breaking her plugin from the mother board because it goes into the laptop on the left, and her plugin wall is on her right. Need Windows 8 and touchscreen. I can't seem to find one with it on the right, or at least in the rear.

But most Acer laptops have the plug at the left side unfortunately.
Edit: Never mind. It was just the ones I first saw that have it on the left side.

Budget $5-6 hundred $. Would like to have an Intel 5, but 3 would work, or an AMD of similar size. Need CD/DVD drive.. 15.6 or larger screen. Touch screen. and Windows 8. Did I miss anything. I will look into the HP Envy. Is that a decent laptop?

The HP's that I've come into contact with (i'm in a computer repair club at my school, so I get to see quite a few laptops) all seem pretty decent, they're a big name for a reason. Usually the problems people have had with them when the bring them in is some sort of software issue, I've only seen one or two come in which had a hardware issue.

The one thing I like about Apple laptops is that they have that magnetic DC (all laptops have a DC jack, not AC) power connector which pretty much eliminates the problem of the broken DC power jack. The only Windows device that I am aware of that has the magnetic connector are the MS Surface tablets. I wonder why more laptop mfrs don't adopt the magnetic connector? I'm sure it has to do with keeping the price down.

    @ Billberry,

In my last post, just click on the HP Envy link. The features your looking for are all there. HP Envy is one of their best models. Always, a good idea to purchase an extended warranty.
