Display goes off suddenly, & doesn't come back until we restart

    Hi There,

I have been facing a problem from quite a few while.

    This is what actually happens.

Every day 3-4 times my display goes off. But the PC is still on.

Every thing works keyboard is active, CPU is running , power supply is present, but just the display does off,

If only i had the problem I could have understand, but the same problem is bugging my colleagues too.

It does not matter if you wait for 5 min. or 5 Hrs the display wont come back until i restart the PC.

Some says that this is hibernation but i doubt that. so anyone out here, please can you shed some light of hope on this issue.

This could be a problem with your monitor. Can you try another monitor to see if it has the same problem.

Your graphics card may need to be reseated. Shut down the computer, disconnect the power lead, remove the graphics card, carefully clean the contacts & reinsert it squarely & make sure it is fully inserted. Power up the computer again & see if this has fixed it. If not the graphics card may be faulty.

Many different things can cause this behavior. A Overclock that's bad, bad GPU, bad GPU drivers.

Start with doing a clean reinstall of the GPU drivers and go in to the BIOS and set "Optimized Defaults" F10 to save and exit.

Had this on a biostar mb. Ended it by putting a asus. After new power supply didn't fix it.
