saving .txt

    saving .txt


    written text in notepad will not save.

    That is not much info to go on...
    ...but here are things that come to mind:

    1) The file might be read-only.

    2) The file might reside in a protected folder.

    3) NTFS permissions might prevent you from saving the file.

    Hello Alex,

    You might see if you may be able to save it to another location and/or with a different file name.

    been having problems with user files. Mainly my documents. I ran sfc / scannow. it reported back It fixed some Issuses. I tried to open cbs.log. access was denied. any thots ??

    Are you having problems with saving to a specific folder location, or ??

    hello Brink. It would seem a logical place to save txt. would be my documents. txt for some reason will not save there. I also have my documents on k:\username\my documents. the folder on c:\ shows a whopping 10.6 giga, while on k:\ 50.5 MB.

    As a test, use the tutorial below to add "Take Ownership" to your context menu.

    Take Ownership Shortcut

    Afterwards, right click on the folder that you are not able to save to, and click on "Take Ownership".

    When finished, see if you are able to save to the folder now.
