Just switched to Windows 7, contents of External Drive are read only?

I just switched from Windows XP to Windows 7, I backed up all my files to an external HDD and now I've transferred them all back, but I've noticed the folder they were in says it's read only... or rather, it's not ticked, it has a blue square on read only.

According to Security I have access to everything... is this a problem or not? Should I go to folder properties and make read only unchecked just to make sure all my files will be usable and modifyable?

    Hello Xirix,

A blue filled check box is just the default neutral setting that is always displayed. File is not read-only. For a folder, it means all files in the folder not to be set as read-only. :)

Ah, I was wondering.. plus it seems all my files are working and modifying as they should, just wanted to check.

    Thanks :)
