Doesn't sound right. Every time a Windows update arrives, a restore point is automatically made. The only way that you have only restore points from 2010 and 2011 is if you did an Image Restore from three years ago or you turned off the System Protection in 2011.

    system restore

There was a date there last week.... I used it to reset. Is there a way to get more dates?????

I paid $29 to a site that was supposed to fix my Primtmaster problem. After 45 min on the phone and it was not fixed after he "fixed" the registry and did a diagnostic. Could he have messed it up? *sigh*

Just looked just one important update. will try it but not holding my breath....

You can also try increasing the amount of storage restore points can use by doing the following:

Click , then right click computer-properties. Click system protection. Click drive C and click configure. Drag the slider to 10%. That is what I have done with mine, and I have about 3 restore points every day. Of course, it can be any figure you want it to be, depending on the amount of disk space you have. The more disk space windows can use, the more restore points can be created.

It is quite possible your "Tech Guy" messed things up. I am not sure how Restore Points from three years ago could be installed. In the future, don't pay for PC help. There are guys here that know much more than the average Tech Guy and will get things corrected for you free.

I do wonder why a Tech would turn off Restore Points.
I also don't understand RP back to 2010 if system protection was on and set properly. Those RP would of been long gone and new ones in there place.

I have 20 restore points 10.52 GB. Set at 5% dated from 3/25 to 4/13,2014.

It seems to me System Protection was not on and or set properly sense 2010.
Now the good folks here got things set and working properly.

    Happy computing purplelover
