Acer Aspire One D255E Not booting

Upon initial boot, i am presented with two options: Start windows normally, which shows a split second of a blue screen then returns to the previous screen, or Launch Startup Repair, which brings me to a page that is stuck at "Windows is loading files." It doesnt do anything after that. I tried safe mode, Safe mode, i also tried Factory reset by hitting alt+f10 and that brings me to a blank black screen with a white dash in the upper left corner, and also does nothing after that. Nothing i have tried works. It either freezes or brings me back to the previous screen. I heard from a few friends it could be the BIOS or hard drive?

Well; have you tried doing a startup repair using the window disc? If not i would try doing that first and see what happens. As far as the hard drive goes; can you hear any unusual sounds coming from the hard drive like clicking etc? cause that could indicate that the drive is about to go south.

There was no disc that came with it as it was bought at a pawn shop. Worked fine then. And no unusual noises.

You can download an ISO to create a disc here,

Windows 7 Direct Download Links, Official Disk Images from Digital River

Just grab the top one under English, it's Home Premium because they don't have Starter. Make sure you grab the x86 version, there is no starter in the x64 versions.

Then just do stage one of this tutorial,

Windows 7 Universal Installation Disc - Create

This tutorial will help with the non-booting issue,
