It seems the problem started after using DBAN.
Could that have changed something in BIOS, and now a BIOS reset might help ?

Only if he reset BIOS to defaults, or a power cut or something else caused it (rare).
But the UEFI settings don't look exactly correct since he has a UEFI install judging by the disk picture so I'd start there with the changes I suggested earlier.

Could you post a new picture of Disk Management so we can take a look?
It just might show us something to learn from.
