32 and 64 bit partition set up

I am wanting to install a 32 bit programme on a 64 bit operating system, not able to. Was thinking of setting up partition in hard drive, the file is 5.5 gb. Is this the way to go and will I have to back up any stored files. Thanks for your advice

32 programs normally run fine under Windows 7 X64.

What program and what happens when you try to install it?

What you are trying to do is not going to help unless you have not enough space on your C partition. A 5.5GB program is rather unusual.

Hmm, there are always exceptions to the rule. I guess this one wants to be difficult.

This website may help you with your system requirements.

Solidworks 2013 System Requirements | SolidWorks

According to this website Windows 7 Professional 64 bit is recommended.

Also you mentioned a program size of 5Gb. Solidworks recommend as having at least that much free space on you hard drive, it is not the size of the program.
