powering up and down a tower by useing keyboard

Is it possable to power up and power down my tower by using my keyboard? Maybe with a keyboard on the market. I would like to upgrade to a small sized keyboard in the near future. Thank you for your experience

Some keyboards have auto hot keys for power, sleep, and hibernate. If you find a keyboard like that, it should suit your needs. For keyboards that have a sleep button, it can be configured to make the pc shut down instead of sleep.

    In short, yes.

Any keyboard with seperate keys that you can set to do something will work. You will need to get the software for the keyboard too. This is one I use: Logitech - Wireless Keyboard K350. Or you can use software to set key combinations for shutdown. But I don't think you can turn it on with a keyboard. If you were using a desktop, (your specs say laptop) there might be PCIe cards you can use to turn your PC on.

Edit: didn't see your post Andrew.

No problem, here is an example:

ROCCAT Isku FX ROC-12-901 Black 123 Normal Keys USB Wired Gaming Multicolor Keyboard - Newegg.com

That one has a power key. Multimedia keyboards are probably what you want. And most of them have software or built in driver where in windows keyboard settings you can assign specific keys to have it do what you want.

The raccat 901 looks great. I am setting this desk top up for drawing. I have a corel draw loaded and waiting on my copy of carrel cad to arrive wich should be great fun. I would think the multi media keyboard should be a good combo, And having the hot key gives it a great feature. The included software..will this be for the programing keys functions? If so I will have to look for this also

Yes, software should come with it as it supports macros, which in a sense are tiny scripts that can be programmed to run when you press certain keys.
