Searches in folder with general format - results in music format

Can you control the folder format that your search results opens with?
My work computer keeps reverting to music format when I want the general format. I don't need to know contributing artist of my solid modeling files.

You should be able to customize any folder.

Yes, this is a nuisance. Customizing the folder display does not work in W7 as it should. And never has worked, at least not for me: Folder thinks it is a music folder... how do I change that?

I simply had to learn to live with it...

I know I can customize folders but customizing them does not change the way search results are displayed. I can make a folder customized to "general" style but searches still show as "music" style.

Ugh. Searches are a critical and frequent necessity in my job for finding CAD files. I hope someone has stumbled upon a solution.

It always worked fine for me.....Make sure you are actually opening the folders properties, and not on the libraries.

You can also expand items to search in windows 7, or try rebuilding the index.

    Multiple tutorials below:

Search - Find More with Filters and Operators

Search Options - Change or Restore

Windows Search - Configure and Use

Search - Have More Accurate Search Results

    Index - Rebuild

Index Locations - Add or Remove

Index - Add or Remove File Types

    Thanks.
    I'll look into them.
If nothing else it should be educational.
