Can IT company charge for Microsoft Security Essentials?

I just had a (rare) thought. I have a debit card and the bank replaces it every 3 years, but the account number and PIN stays the same. The old card becomes useless though.
Maybe if this is a credit card they can do the same for you?

Seems we care more than the OP. Its good to know integrity is of high priority here.

I believe you are right. The OP seems to be gone. We tried, it is his money and his problem.

I wouldn't worry about it,
Paying for a tech support contract is pretty normal,
The confusion is linking this support contract with MSE,
This is just what the support company downloaded and installed for the op,
Canceling the contract via Not renewing will not effect MSE but the op can Uninstall MSE and re-install it if they would feel better ?
Non-issue,
Cheers.

I've have very good results from a repair shop. So this generalization doesn't make sense:
Never step foot in a PC repair shop, ever.
They did no sucking whatever. I bought and paid, that's all.
Their job is to suck as much money out of you up front ...
No freeware, either.
...and throw freeware on your PC that they probably downloaded from ninite
No doubt there are shysters in the business, but don't throw stones at them all.

People with ethics and good prices don't last long in the PC repair business. If you've stepped foot into one of those shops, you were overcharged. If you find a good one, which there are some, its most likely a "mom and pop" type place that don't have a lot of overhead and actually care.

I am to honest to make a living fixing computers in real world situations. But I do it for extra income here and there. But I could not see myself doing that as my only thing. Alas, I wish it could be....but ya.
