    Disable shutdown button


    how to disable just the shutdown button when there are 2 accounts in windows to prevent losing data from the locked account if the user switches to another account then purposely shut down the computer.

    os: windows 7 64bit ultimate

    considered safe? and I may be able to revert back using restore ?

    Try the second solution, it seems that more people suggest the same procedure. At the end of tutorial says:

    That is it, if you would now log off there shouldn't be a Shutdown button on a logon screen anymore. If you want it back, just repeat the steps above and choose Enabled.
    So you know you can go back if things don't result the way you wanted. And then, after tried this you don't get the desired outcome, then try the first solution, because that needs a little more work. I personally never needed to disable the button since I only have one account in my computers all the time, so I can't tell you if it works, but try that and come back to share your findings :)
