Roger, I would look at your motherboard manual and see what size, type and frequency your motherboard will take before buying. I would also suggest looking at the motherboard manual and seeing which slots they recommend. The board most likely has 4 slots 2 of one color and 2 of another color. ram should ne placed in the same color slots. Which 2, for 2 sticks your manual will tell you. I would buy the largest sticks the motherboard will handle and place them in the appropriate slots. You should buy either a 2 stick kit or a 4 stick kit. each color of slots represents a memory channel, if you fill 1 channel (2 sticks in the same color slots) it will run good, if you want to fill both channels you should fill both colored slots. So, either 2 stick kit or a 4 stick kit. Whatever you do, I would run memtest86+ again as soon as you install them to make sure there are no flaws in the ram. It is a pain, but I always do every time I change ram. It's an automatic with me. If you get even 1 error, the ram has failed. I would RMA the whole kit so you get a complete kit back. You would be better off if you want to have 4 GB of ram to buy 2 x 2gb sticks, assuming your motherboard slots will take 2 GB sticks, which your manual should tell you.

If you need it you can get drivers and your manual as well as other things here http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M2N...tion/HelpDesk/

Roger just a reminder.
Make sure you have a copy of your motherboard manual.
Also I recommend reading essenbe post # 92 again and make sure you understand it.
If not please ask back any questions before buying the ram.

You will get a lot of debate on who makes the best ram. I prefer G Skill, I believe Greg likes Kingston. Crucial, Corsair, Mushkin and a few others are good. But, most any of the top companies are good. Look at their warranty, I know G Skill and Corsair have lifetime warranties, I suspect Crucial and Kingston do too. Any of the top companies are good and make good ram. Any of the ones I mentioned and you won't go wrong as long as it works with your board.

Any board that can run Vista can run WIn7 just as easily. The issue here is whether the RAM sticks and slots test good.

Work with Essenbe to confirm with certainty which sticks and slots are good and which might need replacing, not guessing or based on the RAM's age.

Only if one fails repeated tests do you need to replace it and then we will help you spec it beyond a question of doubt that you are buying the correct RAM.

You need to follow the "Part 3: If You Have Errors:" of How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+

Say you have two RAM sticks and two DIMM slots. You obtained errors at the test with all RAM sticks installed. Now, remove all the sticks but one. Test it in all the available slots, one by one. Continue the same procedure for all the available sticks.
How to make the inference that is it a RAM issue or it is a motherboard issue? Suppose you have got the result like that:

testSlot1Slot2
RAM1ErrorError
RAM2GoodGood
It is a RAM, a bad RAM.

But if you have got a result like that:

testSlot1Slot2
RAM1ErrorGood
RAM2ErrorGood
It is a motherboard issue. The particular slot is bad.

Just a little two cents worth I think the G Skill forum fellow Tradesman is really good at advice on RAM on a particular board and I am not saying that everyone here is not an is especially good with G.Skill stuff

To be sure you get the correct ram, download and run the Crucial Memory Scanner (Crucial.com - Crucial System Scanner ) and it will tell you exactly what ram is compatible with your board. They guarantee the results too. And you can choose and buy straight from the results you get. I would get 2 X 2GB sticks. 2 GB is the max per Dimm slot your board can take, I believe.
