If I read your specs correctly you have two kinds of mem installed. I don't see either type in the recommended vendor list for that board.
also the slots they are installed in are critical. from the manual:
install identical DIMMs in all four sockets OR
•
install identical DIMM pair in DIMM_A1 and DIMM_B1 (yellow sockets)
and another identical DIMM pair in DIMM_A2 and DIMM_B2 (black
sockets)
Always use identical DDR2 DIMM pairs for dual channel mode. For
optimum compatibility, it is recommended that you obtain memory modules
from the same vendor. Visit the ASUS website (ASUS) for the
latest Qualified Vendors list.
Just an observation may not help.
i got that tracer crucial ballistix which has the led lights but the third stick was faulty so i went to crucial website for recommendations and as the tracer was not available they sent me what they thought was compatible but when prime stops in 5 hours i,ll start memtest as i have that on disc
Bios loading is explained in the manual in section 4.1. If your existing bios has Asus crash free bios it is my prferred method. I have used it several times. You will need to visit Asus and get the latest ver and put it where you know you can find it. Using OS as Vista 64bit the latest non beta ver I see is 1202.

The method I mention above removes the net from the equation thus is more reliable.

The BIOS was updated to 1202 yesterday.
I would watch the temps. Heat could be a cause of your problem, is one of the checklist in Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7.
Did you do the CPU thermal pasting, so you know it is intact and sufficient? I'm assuming the case is not full of dust with all the change-outs you've done.
I would install CoreTemp to monitor temps in the System tray, set alerts.
Last week my brother in law took my pc and stripped it down cleaned it and tried to resolve the problem but he was unable to do so we reseated the processor with thermal paste and as i type this i am running prime95 and this time the temp hasnt risen above 25c so far i am going to have to run memtest tomorrow i will be back later to ask for more guidance as pc wont boot into installation dvd in normal mode for some reason but i will finisg prime95 first
Roger, what are you using for temp measurement? I have never seen a CPU run Prime and not go over 25C. Are you sure you are looking at the CPU temp?
i have a x blade case and on the front near the top there is a cpu temp gauge and currently it is showing 20c my tower has 4 fans running i dont know if this is correct or not but i have been running prime since 17.20pm our time and all stress tests are showing a pass.
Edit i have now stopped prime95 and starting memtest which does 2 passes at a time
When I checked memtest it showed that I had 82 errors is this because I have them incorrectly fitted but I am now doing a diskpart format which is taking its time to complete
