Well known shortcuts now working (Win+L, Ctrl+Alt+Del...)

I have got shiny new Lenovo T440. It came preinstalled with Win7 Pro x64. There is lot of Lenovo bloatware, hard to say what all that stuff does and what is actually needed. Let me know and I can try to list it here.

Either way pressing these shortcuts does absolutely nothing. Not even slight move in cpu or memory usage.

I have USB keyboard attached, but removing it and using built-in keyboard doesn't change anything.

There are some shortcuts that are working correctly, for example Win+R, Win+E, Win+M, Win+D, Win+Pause. Maybe some more, but these are the ones I use the most. Among those that are not working, there is Ctrl+Shift+Escape (task manager).

To make it even more weird, if I choose "Lock" option from start menu, it does nothing at all too. However using "Switch user" works there and seems it currently only way how to lock workstation. Also I can open Task manager by right clicking on taskbar and choosing it there.

I have checked event log, no warnings or errors there. I am kinda out of options here, never seen something like this. Do you have any idea where could be culprit hidden ?

A brand new PC should not have these issues.
Can you return it for exchange/refund?

I've helped some people hours after getting a new PC that said they had problems.
I found malware on the PC causing the problems.
Found out they started using it right out of the box, downloading whatever, doing whatever, ...
Have you used any "tuneup tools", downloading ?, clicking on ?, ... etc. ?
What security is on the laptop and is it active and updated?

If it really is a brand new laptop out of the box with these issues and you don't want to return it:

For starters, what do you see in:
Control Panel / Programs and Features
    Msconfig / Startup
Task Manager - running processes for all users

Well it's bit awkward, but it's working now. I opened System Update utility from Lenovo. First it installed some unknown system update which could not be even stopped and didn't required reboot. Than it recommended important update named Synaptics UltraNav Driver. After installation of that and reboot everything magically works as expected.

One of those two things must have fixed it, because I am sure that rebooting didn't helped before. There was also some weird issue with system shutdown when I had do hard reset to kill whole laptop. After those updates this isues seems fixed too.

Fully updated ESET Endpoint Security is running here. I am not one of those clicking on everything on the web First thing that I install is Chrome + Ghostery extension.

    Thanks for the reply anyway.
