Computer keeps waking up from Sleep

I have my computer set to sleep after 3 minutes, But I notice it always wakes up on it's own accord. Shortly after going into sleep mode. I have disabled wake timers in advanced power settings, but doesn't stop it.

Oh and the other thing, which might be related. When resuming from sleep, there is a USB Device is Not Recognised message just above the system tray. Could that be causing it. How can I tell what USB Device it is. Mouse and keyboard are working fine and are the only 2 usb devices I have left plugged.

Try going into your settings for sleep timer

    Hello Subby,

The tutorials below may be able to help you to ID what is waking the computer.

Wake Source - Read Event Viewer Log

    Lastwake Command

Devices - See Devices that are able to Wake Up the Computer

Hope this helps for now, :)

Ok i found out that the usb keyboard and mouse were instantly waking the computer up when going into sleep mode. I don't know why, they weren't doing it on windows xp, now since i'm on windows 7 they are. I have gone into device manager and unticked both the keyboard and mouse options to allow this device to wake up the computer from sleep. And the unknown device is the card reader, so I just unplugged it.

    Subby,

Did you have the latest drivers for these devices installed?

I installed PC Stop Driver program, and said all device drivers are upto-date. I also upgrade the bios to the latest version.

You might also check your PC or motherboard and device manufacturer's site for the support -> driver download page to see what they have available as well.
