    Programs not maximizing after minimizing

Alright so here is my problem... I have been using Windows 7 RC build 7100 for a while, but I just got Windows 7 Professional x64. In the RC, whenever i had left my computer on for more than an hour, and then minimized windows, such as IE, if there were multiple instances of this window in use, such as more than one folder open in explorer, or more than one tab open in IE, it will not let me maximize them again after minimizing. The box that should appear when I hover over the IE icon appears, then disappears almost instantly. I also cannot use alt+tab to change windows. That box appears, then disappears instantly as well. I contacted MS support, and well they didn't help at all... they told me to do thing I had already done that didnt help.

This is very frustrating. This problem started in the RC, and I was hoping it wouldn't happen with the RTM version, however it is still happening just as frequently in the RTM. I know that I can change the settings so that it does not minimize the icons into one single icon, but into many like how XP was, but I do not want to do that. I like having it collapse the windows into one single icon.

Someone PLEASE help me! I am getting very frustrated with this!

    Thank you in advance

I had this happened to be twice before and can't remember what i did to resolve it. One time it was due to the exended mode of my display setting, it openned up but went over to the secondary monitor which i didn't have at that stage. I had to go into the settings and change extended to single monitor.

The other time was just a crash of IE, a program was sitting behind IE and it doesn't seperate. I think i end up rebooting.

Well, my brother is a server tech for a contract company for microsoft. He works on MS's servers in WA. He says he uses Windows 7 Ultimate at work, and uses multiple displays (as do i) and he has not had any problems whatsoever with windows.

I have tried turning my second monitor off, but the problem is still there. I am out of ideas... If Microsoft's support wasnt so horrible and time consuming, I would persue it more on there, but I can't really get any further with them than I have..

How often does this issue occur? What did MS say about it?

The problem occurs pretty much every day. Whenever my computer has been up for more than 1 hour, whether I use it, or in idle. MS said to run sfc /scannow to check for problems (which none came up) and then do a clean boot (enable selective startup in msconfig and uncheck start up itms, and non MS services). However neither of those things worked, so they closed my issue as not resolved so all I have to do is go back to their website and go through the BS again of getting support...I think I will try email this time.

Basically, I do not see any reason that I should be having any problems whatsoever. This is a fresh install. I installed 2 days ago. I installed updates, drivers for everything, and Comodo Personal Firewall (the free one), and itunes, and photoshop CS3, and a few games, and thats it. This problem is VERY irritating. I cannot save my work if I have anything open when this happens becuase I often switch between word, and IE and the second I minimize word, I cannot re open it. And so far the only way to resolve this is to reboot, then its good for another hour or so.

Well here is the thing, I had the RC installed for about 2 months before installing Office 2007, and it was having this issue before. I think it may be some compatability issue because this is the x64 OS, maybe there is a x86 program that is causing these issues?
