Systemwide stuttering after 2-3+ days of uptime

I rarely turn my computer off. After two or three days of continuous uptime, my computer starts stuttering. Every few seconds, mouse and keyboard input will pause for a brief moment. It's fixed with a reboot, but I really don't like restarting my computer. How can I fix the stuttering without rebooting?

Do you have your monitor set so that it goes dark after a certain about of time with no keystrokes (20 minutes for me)?

System stuttering and lagging after long uptime
After my computer is left on for a period of time (anywhere from a few hours to a day or two), it starts lagging and stuttering. A "spike of lag" occurs every few seconds, temporarily freezing the system (typing/mouse movement is affected, sound isn't). It can't be a RAM issue because I have 16GB...

High DPC Latency, causing Audio STUTTERING after a couple hours uptime
My problem is when I am watching flash videos, specifically YouTube and Twitch.TV, my sound stutters when opening another tab or just when simply watching the video and not doing anything else. Things like games and iTunes DO NOT stutter. A good thing but sort of bad thing for troubleshooting is...

Show Us Your System Uptime
I think that most of us here like (useless) statistics, how long can you go without a reboot? :geek: Even though this is a Windows 7 forum, let's not limit ourselves to Windows 7 (mainly because my uptime champ is Linux based ). So, here's my Windows 7 HTPC and my Ubuntu 10.04...
