    Adobe taking over icons


    Help, I must have opened with adobe, now it has changed most of my icons. I read about this happening in the past. I am not computer literate but need a fix. Help.....

    Hello fisherpam, and welcome to Seven Forums.

    If you like, you could download and merge the .reg file in the tutorial below for the listed file extension(s) that is happening with to restore it's default associations.

    Default File Type Associations - Restore

    Do you know what type of files this is happening with?

    If so, I can help point you in the right direction. :)

    Under my start icon, the following are pdf icons; internet explorer, Microsoft word starter, Skype, disk cleanup, calculator, Microsoft office.
    On the desk top: google chrome, AVG 2014, AVG PC tune up, Skype.

    It sounds like it could be for shortcuts.

    If you like, download and merge the .reg file for the listed .lnk (LNK) option in the tutorial to restore it's default associations and see if that fixes it. It won't hurt anything since it's default settings. :)
