OK. If you had not connected any external USB drive, you seem to have three internal drives a 250 GB Disk 0, a 2TB Disk 1(with some 140GB data in I), and a 120GB(?) Disk 2 (with 77GB of data in F).

Your current System drive is Disk 0 and I guess that the other two drives were at one time the system drives which were relegated to secondary duties without reformatting them and that is why you still seem to have the System Reserved partitions in those drives.

Now I am not going to deal with it since my primary concern is the data which you are unable to see or lost all of a sudden and for which you started this thread..

    So now answer these questions.

    1. Are you able to access the 140 GB data in the 1862GB partition I? Were you able to access it before?

    2. Are you able to access the 77GB of data in the 112GB F partition? Were you able to access it before?

Yes, but the data has changed and is now the same as my system (C:) drive! And yes, I could access it previously but when it was my D: drive it held all the files that re now missing.

    2. Are you able to access the 77GB of data in the 112GB F partition? Were you able to access it before?

Yes, and yes I could access this before.

    Thank you

hmmm....that really beats me. It is not a simple case of data disappearing all of a sudden.

Now we have some additional information and it seems if we go by what you say, H and C have been cloned to D and I.

I really do not know how that possibly can happen - all of a sudden.

Either some critical fact is missing or I am missing something because it is beyond my comprehension.

Please wait to see if someone else can see the things in perspective and advise you.

May be you are in for lot more questioning.:)

This might be a clue, in the first Post Graham said he ha used "Casper" to clone a disc.
I think the only chance now is running Recuva but I to am a bit lost here!

Well, I too have never come across this before I did use Casper to image my O/S drive, C: but I used NovaBACKUP for the files on my D: drive but this was several weeks back???

Still in the dark regarding this one, especially with the disk (previously D) now containing the same files as the O/S drive C:?

    Thanks guys

Just checked my 4TB external drive and it seems NO backups are there??? The external drive contains all the same files as the system disk C:???

Not sure what is happening here? I have ran Kasperky and the only file it found was AVG PrivacyFix, which I deleted!
