Windows Explorer has stopped working **Help**

Hi, I am new to this forum. I have experienced problems with this issue before and it got to the point I restored to factory default. For whatever reason I am now not able to do this again, I never had a software disc as I have a laptop with the recovery installed on my system, but it's no longer there as an option when I go to boot?

Anyway I'm hoping that there's a way around getting rid of this continuous error message! Basically it happens whenever I open a folder, it's like a ticking time bomb. Sometimes it will happen after 20 seconds, other times it will happen after 2 minutes. It then restarts the whole screen and i have to go back into the folder etc.. Like a constant annoying circle!

I have read up on other forums with possible solutions (including this one) and have no malware on this laptop so as far as I'm concerned there is nothing malicious in the system.

I have updated video drivers etc.. Windows says they are all up to date.

One thing that could be the problem though is when i run the sfc command it says that there are some things that couldn't be fixed?

Where do I go from here?

    Thank you!

It is more than likely a program you have installed that is causing it, and not windows fault. A lot of people who say windows sucks is usually caused by crappy programs that they have installed causing it.

Troubleshoot your apps by removing them from startup to see which one is causing the issue:

You may have programs running at startup that is causing this issue. Please see this tutorial to temporary disable them and see if the issue is resolved:

I installed Malware bytes 2 days ago, before I posted this. It found a few things, quarantined them, still the same issue remains. I will try and locate if it's a start up programme or not, will post the progress shortly.

Many thanks for your help though guys..
