    .NET 1.1 runtime

New to Win7. I looked in Program & Features in Win7 Pro (32 bit). I don't see .NET 1.1 runtime installed.
I am looking for Visual C++ 2003 runtime lib (to get an old 32 bit app to run on Win7) and googling told me this runtime lib is included in .NET 1.1 runtime.
My question is can Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 be installed in Win7 w/o causing harm?
    Thanks in advance.

One way to find out that should be pretty safe is run ToolWiz Time Freeze before installing. It uses the Shadow Service to make programs think they are writing to the system partition when it's really a cache file. The default cache is 1/2 GB but you cand adjust it. It's free software. I used it for awhile as a surfing shield. It seemed pretty stable.

You're welcome. I don't use TimeFreeze all the time. But it's a handy tool to have. :)

Just as an aside, a couple of really old FS9 addons also use 1.1 and I've installed it ok. (It warns it's not compatible, but nothing terrible happened)
