Viewing Folders in Details Mode - My Documents/Downloads

I'm not sure how this happened, or just what the proper vocabulary really is, but here's my problem.

I very carefully direct and downloaded files to a subfolder (DownloadsTempMD) under My Documents on a Data drive.

I'd really very much prefer to be able to sort downloaded files by name, date, the usual Details format.

For some reason Windows 7 Professional x64 has elected to conclude that anything I download must be for my entertainment, ergo it must be sorted by Title, Contributing Artists, Album. This may be a great boon to some, but it is a PITA to me. If I've downloaded an installation file, I want the most recent file at the top of the display where I can find it.

Is there a way to turn off this 'feature' that reminds my way too much of 'Clippy.'

    thanks

    Hello Baumgrenze,

If you like, you could use the method in the tutorial below to set a default folder view for all folders with the "General Items" folder template and "Details" view.

Folder View - Set a Default for All Folders

    Hope this helps, :)
