more clues. when the dev mgr tree folds back up the cursor arrow changes to an hourglass but only if I choose device mgr from the complete list of control panel items.
I have sysinternals suite and the spikes appear to be in iexplore.exe
using currports I have 20-30 each some times of iexplore and unknown some times established sometimes not.
The only two devices external that I have (comp is an acer a0725 laptop) are an optical mouse and a dell display (my screen is cracked) they both have been working correctly for a year or so.device mgr device tree recycles up and down-capture.png

task host manager is always last to go when shutting down even if no browser is open. asks if I want to force shutdown etc.

aside from that. I live in San Jose, silicon valley calif. and Acer is a big company here. There is a lot of monkey business with a large humanist church and the local authorities especially housing.
This comp was factory fresh and in the box given to me. I was a homeless veteran with disabilities who now has housing and disability payments.
My social worker gave this to me and then had to change jobs. 3 or 4 social workers before her did the same.
anyway, I don't know what the terms involved are but this computer, I think, is made to spy. even the 25 numbers that the program speccy sees and the 25 number (Key) code on the sticker on the computer( wHICH I CANT READ ANYMORE) are not the same.
While watching the first boot I saw programs being installed I saw some programs with publisher unknown being loaded, is that normal?
I have gone to other forums to solve problems before. Trojans (divide sign 2) was one. dual webcam programs installed. I uninstalled acer crystal webcam for that reason.
I swear people who live in this housing complex are always commenting about what I'm browsing.
I have dsl and Ethernet cable. never wifi.
I REALLY want to beat this. and would do a clean install if your security forums could help me discover the mess.
I can't afford a computer myself so the problem is with me.
my name is Arnold Johnson and it sounds crazy but I've lived her for 33 years and that's what's doin' in San Jose.
