    it was environmental variables i found in control panel UAC for temp and tmp. ididn't put them there.

    also an account for virtualization. with a strong password. next to an artsy site i enjoyed a year ago.

    using nirsoft usbdview I found pc camera.disabled it and the devmgr is stable now. thank you for your inspiration Maxine.
    could you look at my last 2 questions please?
    now the paperclip would work.

    You are missing the AMD USB 3.0 Host Controller and the Chipset Driver ... As for the Paperclip in which program is that ? ....

    a usb devie i had been using to transport downloads from the apartment office to this comp haad boot files on it. I was going to sve files to do a complete reinstall on it and even after i had fomatted it these were hidden on the usb2 device.

    could devmgr been trying to warn me?

    any ways now i can't do a scannow because i cmd keeps telling me i need admin in a console session. but it doesn't work there ether.

    any advice?

    I cant even run sfc scannow in admin from the box. say i have to run as admin from a console session
    i dont get a context menu either when right click.

    You really need to do a Repair Install at the very least ... At the end of the day it is your choice but things will not get better on there own ...

    o.k. I hear what you're saying but that's my thing. I want to learn and know. I have nothing but time.

    having a chance to look around your forum I can see how busy you must be.

    besides calibration the I am also trained in repair and this is what I love to do.

    like you do I get a great deal of satisfaction overcoming problems and on to the next one.

    you must be very proud to belong to such a successful and appreciated and needed adventure.

    I feel your sincerity and love free advice...when I ask for it.

    forums is huge. beautiful/useful. I never owned my own computer before. I want to, Jesus willing.. to overcome.

    i'll look around and learn. the hard way, the way im familiar with.
