    Repeated Desktop Crash Problem

    Hi everyone!

I've recently been having a problem with my Dell Inspiron laptop, windows 7 (Ultimate 64 bit version). While I'm playing a game, or watching a film or doing anything else on my computer which requires a full screen window, it keeps crashing to desktop. It seems that windows tries to start running a programme in every 5 minutes. I don't know what programme this is because it only shows it's icon for about 2-3 seconds, but it seems to have higher priority than any other programme opened at that time. After the crashes I can continue playing and doing the stuff I was doing before, but after a few minutes the same thing happens.

I didn't install any kind of a new software or programme, only windows 7 automatic updates. I ran my antivirus programme and it didn't find any viruses. I've also reseted the whole computer to the 4 days ago saved state of it and have run the antivirus again, but nothing was found and the problem still exist.

Please, help me figure out what causes this problem and if you know the solution please share it with me! I would really appreciate it! :)

    Suggestion

If you like - you could run Nshield 1.5

It runs without installation. If you decide to use it - head to the settings window and uncheck the option to run on windows startup.

Note: It will drive you crazy with pop ups appearing every time a new process wants to run but at least it should enable you to get the name of the one that's causing the problem.

Other than that you could install Process Lasso free version and view the process log to see what process launched at the time.

Thank you very much!! With Process Lasso I figured out that the troublemaker was the ui0detect.exe it poped up every minute... I disabled interactive services and now everything is fine! :)

    Process Lasso

Great! Glad that you fixed the problem.

One last thing - if you decided to keep Process Lasso installed for automatic process optimization you need to be aware that if you need to run a data intensive application it will take much longer to complete unless you exclude the specific process from restraint or else shut down Process Lasso when running such applications.

    Examples include:

    Installing Windows Updates
    Defragging
    Wiping Free Space
    Antivirus Scans

Or if you uninstalled it - ignore the above!

    All the best...
