Al Files Corrupted

Dear MItchell 65,

Sorry for the late reply..!

The files were stored in the local machine itself, we have a backup of the data. But the user told me that has made some critical changes to the files since we backed it up last time. We does a backup once a week for the userdata stored locally in his machine.

Malwarebytes didn't come up with anything.

I did a scf /scannow a couple of times, couldn't find anything unusual in that.

I have isolated the pc from my network so that, if there is any virus I don't want the same infect our file server.

Any more suggestions?

I'm a bit confused here as to where the files in question are stored. Your previous threads suggest that the PCs in the workgroup are in different locations quite a distance apart. You say that the files in question are stored in the "local PC"! Does that mean that YOU have physically run Malwarebytes and sfc scannow or that the operator at that location has performed these actions?
Can you get the operator at that location to send you a copy of one of the files? If so scan it with your anti virus software (is Kapersky installed on all the machines?) and then try to open it.

Dear All,

The issue was with a ransomware. It did infect some of the files in the shared drive. Malware bites was able to find it but coulnt rectify the issue.

Was a little busy with the recovery of the lost files and all. so couldnt update you.

I was able to recover most of the files from the old version.
