The link is to the official WIn7 downloads w/ SP1. Use the one for your licensed version.

What type of disk do you have that can't do a Repair Install? Any installation disk of same SP and bit-version can do one, just not Factory Recovery disks.

If it will install then it should run a Repair Install.

Click on the blue link and follow the steps to see.

If not download the ISO for your version and burn to disk with ImgBurn.

If you're able to follow steps we give precisely, or else ask back questions until you can get them done, without doing anything else on your own, then you should be able to do it.

For example, I specifically asked you to do two steps for which you only replied back to the first one, just ignoring the second as though I hadn't even taken the time to write it all out for you.

So why dont' you answer now what happened when you create a new Administrative-level User account and tried those things that didn't work you reported in your first post. User Account - Create - Windows 7 Help Forums

Nothing irritates us more here than having steps ignored or skipped. If you cannot be thorough and do every step fully, or ask back until you can get it done, then you should take it to a shop where they will charge you hundreds of dollars and don't have nearly the expertise we have here.

Help is given out for free, the easiest thing you can do is work with us, making sure to respond to each and every question and provide feedback. We are more than happy to help, but you need to help us as well. We cannot fix it on our own when we are not there.

Things like, that didn't work does not tell us anything. You always want to go into more detail. :)

Your better bet would have been to migrate over to a new Account if that was working correctly because there may be other corruption you encounter that wasn't fixed by whatever registry fix they applied.

Let us know how it goes after giving it a good run of everything you do.
