Is their a good site to look up parts to see if they are all compatible with each other
I don't know of a site with that specific purpose. Do the best you can and post a list of the parts you are considering on this web site in the "PC custom builds" section before you commit to buying anything.

The heart of the system is the CPU/motherboard/RAM combination and they must be compatible with each other---an Intel socket 1150 CPU will fit only into a socket 1150 motherboard. The RAM is likely to be DDR3 of a certain size and voltage. Etc.
Yep as I advised in my previous post Igna I was thinking more bigboi should research the motherboard first up by posting for ideas on the brand as like we said it is the absolute basic part he is going to need and given the amount and depth of knowledge of us lot (not that I am a great expert) will give him a good foundation to add stuff to:)

Hello everyone I have a question like I said in my post about my computer im looking to build me a rig and get rid of my crappy laptop I wanted to know if you would take a look at these parts and see if this build would be worth the money I would be paying. someone suggested this build on reddit. I plan on doing 3d animations, modeling, and rendering. And playing games like battlefield 4 with this build. I'll link both builds and the discussion I had with the people who suggested the builds on reddit.

Don't bother with a Xeon, a 4790 will be more than adequate. I would go with a Corsair PSU, I've hardly heard of Rosewill PSUs and have no idea how they perform but Corsair or Seasonic are probably the best you can get. Don't cheap out on a PSU. A Caviar Black would perform much better than a Caviar Blue. You also don't have a CPU cooler listed, if you're going to be doing processor heavy stuff you want an adequate cooler.

As for personal preferences I'd go with an ASUS motherboard and an nVidia GTX GPU. That's your call though.

My personal experience with Nvidia has been horrendous as the drivers I've been using are so unstable but it varies from system to system so I'm not going with Nvidia again for a long time.

But I agree with your power supply, you need a Corsair or Seasonic as they're the best brands, I have some PSU that I've never heard of as it was custom built for me so that's never good, I ought to get a corsair or something at some point.

There are just as many problems with ATI drivers as nVidia, neither are 100% perfect. My 780 has been perfectly stable with every new release of drivers (Beta and WHQL) for over 12 months, it's the luck of the draw.

As far as the psu someone on reddit suggested this one linked below what do you think of that one. Someone on reddit also suggested the xeon over the 4790 here is what he said on reddit when it came to comparing the cpu's. "Yeah. The E3-1230V3 is a really capable CPU (basically a lower-clocked i7-4770), and 16 GB RAM is standard when you need to render. It should work perfectly fine. You can always spend less or more, but this is good for the price you're paying." What is your opinion on that ? I am not sure if I should purchase another gpu I purchased a radeon 7950 5 months ago. I started trying to build a pc then but I quit my job. Do you think I should stick with the card I have and upgrade later sense I have already purchased it or get a new card ? Also what type of cooler would you suggest? I thought the cpu came with one. Sorry if these are inadequate questions I know a little bit about parts to make choices based on what you all tell me and thanks.

Someone on the reddit forums just made these changes they thought where good based on both builds I already posted can you guys take a look and compare the original build with the updated changes someone on reddit made. Give me your opinion? I appreciate this

If you already own the 7950 then by all means keep it and integrate it into your new build, there's no sense in buying a new GPU.

For your build I would be looking at a 650W minimum PSU, 500W will be borderline at best. It's always best to have headroom for power so go high and save yourself any hassle. If you take a look at my specs you'll see I'm running on an HX850-80 Gold modular. It's more than I'll ever need while running one GPU but the overhead is there if I need it for other expansions, and I don't want to be running anywhere near close to the top rating of my PSU. I'd recommend either a 650W or better still a 750W.

As for the CPU it's your call, the 4790 will be more than adequate for what you need and I think the Xeon will be overkill. The CPU will come with a stock cooler, but you'll be much better off with an aftermarket cooler. Do you prefer air or liquid? Answer that and we'll look at coolers, it's relevant as some air coolers may not fit into your case (which case are you using?) as they're quite big, and you'd need to check whether it will physically impact the RAM. Are you staying with the ASRock motherboard?

Thanks for the information. As of right now what would be the best way to determine if all of this will fit inside a case that I purchase the case suggested with the build is linked below.I like the case suggested with the build but it may change when I search for more options should I get a case has more ventilation? I also linked the power supply I am going with only because if I take your suggestion and try to get a 650w power supply I would not know which one to choose would I just get a 650W by the same manufactuare you suggested which is Corsair. I will most likely go with a 640W power supply my only concern is would it damage my parts if the power output(wattage) is too high on the power supply? What makes you say the Xeon is overkill? I was thinking about just getting the 4790 sense it seems to be clocked at a faster speed which is 3.6 Ghz than the Xeon which is clocked at 3.3 Ghz someone of the reddit forums suggested the Xeon because the speed difference is very minimal in their opinion im not sure if it would make a big difference. What do you think? Now when it comes to cooling if liquid cooling is going to save me space in my case then I will go with that I dont have a preference due to me not knowing the advantages and disadvantages to both. As far as the motherboard goes I am going to take your suggestion and go with the Asus mother board to you have a suggestion on which one would be compatible with the parts I have. Thanks for your help I am kinda novice when it comes to choosing parts

my build at the moment with changes suggested from reddit First build please take a look give me your thoughts! : buildapc

Right, the case looks OK. Some people will tell you that silent cases aren't good for cooling but mine works just fine. The only advantage I have is my GPU expels its hot air out of the rear of the card so it doesn't dump heat into the case. That's something to take into consideration. If you do go for that case make sure to add a second 120mm intake fan to the front of the case as only one is supplied. The extra air flow will make a huge difference, especially to you HDDs and for moving the hot air from your GPU. Peronally I'd recommend the Cooler Master Silencio 650 (if you want a silent case) as you can hook your liquid cooler exhaust fan up to the top of the case and have an extra fan exhausting out of the back. the NXZT model doesn't have the extra fan position.

I'd definitely go with the 4790, I'm pretty staunch about that. Others may have different opinions.

This is the PSU I'd recommend. Corasir HX750-80. A higher rated PSU won't damage your parts, I guarantee that. It will only supply as much power is needed by each component.

Let me know a budget for your motherboard, but a Z97-A should be more than adequate.

For a liquid cooler I'd recommend the Corsair h80i.

I'm with Boozad with the PSU it is plenty for most stuff - unless one is completely nuts. The most important thing you should be looking at is the motherboard as I mentioned before and seeing that you were looking at a Xeon I am assuming your budget is rather good so go for your life.

On the GPU I prefer NVidia as I have ad nothing but grief with the AMD stuff.
