    Hello artasas,

    Welcome to Seven Forums.

Might give this a try to see if it finds/fixes anything. SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

    Hope this helps.

    Hi!
Probably you've already solved that or reinstalled the system by now. Anyway, I had the same problem and what did the trick was opening elevated command line - from start menu type "cmd" in the search box, right click on cmd.exe and run as administrator. Once you are in the command prompt type "regsvr32 shell32.dll". You should get confirmation if successful. This will re-register Windows shell library, which is responsible for how windows explorer operates. Remember to restart the system and it folders should open in the same window as you want them to.

If the tute above doesn't work, 2 things to try:

Open Windows Explorer (just open any folder)> Organize> Folder and search options> View tab> Make sure Launch folder windows in a new process is unchecked

    OR

Start> In search box type regedit and press enter> Navigate to

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell

On the right pane there should be a value named Default. It's value should be none. Double-click on the Default value and set the value to none. This should restore you default folder options. restart PC and see if you can now set the correct folder option to open in same window.
