Access to Start Menu folder denied

    I'm using Windows 7.

I want to move a shortcut to my C:\Users\MyName\Start Menu\Startup folder so the program will start at boot-up.

Windows, however, denies me access to the Startup Menu folder, even though I have Administrator authority.

Any suggestions about what could be causing this?

Refer to this Windows 7 Forum tutorial to get a program to launch when you start Windows.

Have you tried accessing it through shell:startup

That will give you a different path than you pointed out above,

    C:\Users\Derek\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

Or, can't you just copy/paste directly to the startup folder in the start menu?
