My windows keeps "disconnecting" every minute

I dont know the proper word usage for this problem but when I am browsing the web, going through docs on my computer or anything that requires a window to use every minute it keeps "disconnecting" as in it would not be the main window im using and I have to click on the window so I can scroll or click on that window. I don't know how to keep it from doing this every minute. I hope this makes sense. It happening even as I type this. Im in the middle of typing this and its no longer an active window and I have to click on it so I can continue typing. Anyone know how to fix this problem. Im using a Sony Vaio laptop.
