Cannot login to Windows, User Profile cannot be loaded and Screen Hang

My screen hanged and turned black, some desktop icons reappear when I move the mouse around. https://i.imgur.com/tZWSakr.jpg

I pressed the restart button to restart, loading slow and waited at the 'welcome' and 'preparing your desktop' for a few mins and finally reached inside windows desktop black screen and showed error popup https://i.imgur.com/vtS6BoE.jpg https://i.imgur.com/ItQuHNc.jpg https://i.imgur.com/o1TTU1R.jpg

I pressed the restart button to restart again, and this time it cannot login, it showed me a "The User Profile Service failed the logon, user profile cannot be loaded" error message https://i.imgur.com/qzQwOpc.jpg , pressed restart button few more times and same thing happened. Unplugged harddisk wire/connector and replugin to ensure firm connection, restart again and same problem happens

Restart PC and pressed F8 when PC starting up to go to advanced boot options, tried "repair your computer" and tried again "last known good configuration (advanced)" https://i.imgur.com/K14mggc.jpg , tried all the options in "repair your computer" https://i.imgur.com/9cfyFuI.jpg but did not solve the "The User Profile Service failed the logon, user profile cannot be loaded" problem

Tried Method 1 in this article You receive a "The User Profile Service failed the logon? error message but it did not fix the problem, so now I am unable to login and stuck with the error "The User Profile Service failed the logon, user profile cannot be loaded"
I can only login to safe mode. Sometimes it is slow and hangs in safe mode too.

    Please help. Thanks.

Sometimes I do experience BSOD https://i.imgur.com/X6yenDU.jpg and distorted colors https://i.imgur.com/LJoHPD1.jpg

    Hello Pcwin,

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue, so let's work together to solve it.

Please can you run System File Checker - SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker
Please can you run Disk Check - Disk Check

When you are in Safe Mode, please download the following programs off the Internet and run a scan with them:
    https://www.malwarebytes.org/
    AdwCleaner Download
    TDSSKiller Download

Malwarebytes will produce a scan log, upload it here for further investigating.

    Thank you,
    VinnyBuxton

System File Checker did not find any problems https://i.imgur.com/sN013jD.jpg

I CHKDSK by going into safe mode, right click C:>Properties>Tools>click Check now>tick both boxes "automatically fix file system errors" and "scan for and attempt recovery">click start https://i.imgur.com/7KwSSgC.jpg and restart PC and it ran the CHKDSK. After running this CHKDSK, I can login to windows now.

    CHKDSK results in event viewer:

There is one line that says 12KB in bad sectors https://i.imgur.com/UqUvJyw.png does it mean my hard disk is faulty?

I can login to windows now, I guessed the problem is solved if PC does not hang and profile login problem does not occur again.

Should I change a hard disk or is the problem only mainly corruption of files and it has been solved by CHKDSK? What is the cause?

    Thanks

Provided some info below for information purpose only. Before I started this thread I also did a CHKDSK but did not solve the windows login problem.
    I did these steps:
    CHKDSK
Press and hold the Windows button + R on your keyboard.
In the Run box, type CMD and hit Enter.
In Command Prompt, type CHKDSK /f and hit Enter.
At the prompt, type Y and hit Enter.
    Reboot the machine.

    Hello Pcwin,

That's great to hear that you can now login to Windows after running CHKDSK and it's great your system isn't infected.

What problems (if any) are you experiencing now?

    Thank you,

    The PC is fine now.
    Some questions:
1 What should I do to prevent the same problem from happening?
2 Should I change a hard disk since there is bad sectors detected?
3 Are the bad sectors repaired/solved by the CHKDSK?
4 Is this "The User Profile Service failed the logon, user profile cannot be loaded" just a windows problem and solved by CHKDSK and not any hardware problem?
5 What is the cause of the problem?

    Thanks

    Hello Pcwin,

I'm not exactly sure what caused this problem, but I can give you some tips that may prevent it:

Run regular scans with Malwarebytes and your anti-virus.
Check that all your drivers are up to date.
Install all the latest Windows Updates.

The bad sectors would of been repaired by CHKDSK, but you could run System File Checker again, to be sure.

    Thank you,

I used western digital data lifeguard diagnostics tool to test my hard disk and it failed, and unable to repair bad sectors.
    Screenshots during steps: https://i.imgur.com/FGbEXus.png
    Test results: https://i.imgur.com/lKFpHTE.png

I run System File Checker again and it says did not find any integrity violations https://i.imgur.com/sN013jD.jpg

HD Tune shows disk health and quick error scan ok: https://i.imgur.com/M4iIBCP.png https://i.imgur.com/Qa7HEwW.png

HD Tune slow scan shows damaged blocks (no time to complete whole scan) https://i.imgur.com/fiO9Vcy.png

Should I change a hard disk?

My PC is working fine now, if I want to clone the whole PC to another hard disk, what would be the recommended way? Is it safe to clone or is a clean reinstall (reinstall win7 and programs) needed?

    Hello Pcwin,

You may have to buy a new hard driver, but let's try some troubleshooting steps.

Run Windows Memory Diagnoses Tool Memory Diagnostics Tool

Please follow this guide, written by Gerry Conrell.

Please upload and share with everyone fresh copies of your System and Application logs from your Event Viewer.

To access the System log select Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Event Viewer, from the list in the left side of the window select Windows Logs and System. Place the cursor on System, select Action from the Menu and Save All Events as (the default evtx file type) and give the file a name. Do the same for the Applications log. Do not provide filtered files.

    Thank you,
