Read-Only File gets changed – Why? How? Who?

    Hi,

I have a simple Text file an a PC. In the File Properties I set the Read-Only flag – apply the settings & ok.
When I now open it in the Editor, I con not change any character.

Now after a Time I realized, that the file has changed somehow.

    1)
    Why does this happen?
How can this happen with a Read-Only file?

    2)
    Who does this?
Can I somehow observe the file to get informed who (which process) is changing the file?

    Can anybody help me?

Setting the Read Only attribute does not prevent modification of the file. It is only an advisory that software can honor or ignore as it wishes.
