    I just assumed I had a virus and reformatted the pc.
    I installed windows 7 home premium and I just followed the instructions on my recovery disk to perform a full destructive recovery

    Sorry I have no idea what that means. What is a full destructive recovery?

    I'm glad things are working.
    It is just a recovery which fully reinstalls windows and removes all of my personal files hence the name 'full destructive'.
